Policies & Resources
Rescheduling an Exam
When unexpected circumstances arise, Bowen provides a process for requesting an alternate exam date. Students are expected to take exams as scheduled whenever possible. Requests for rescheduling are considered only when circumstances meet the law school’s exam policy and receive faculty approval.
Before submitting a request, review the exam policies and speak with the faculty member teaching your course.
Disability Accomodations
Students approved for academic accommodations should submit exam accommodation requests well before final exams begin. Early planning helps ensure accommodations can be arranged and confirmed before the examination period.
If you are seeking accommodations for the first time, contact the Office of Disability Services as early as possible.
Inclement Weather
Exams are held as scheduled unless the university announces a campus closure or modified operations due to severe weather or another emergency. If weather affects the exam schedule, students will receive official university communications with any changes or instructions.
Students should monitor university alerts and email during severe weather and follow all instructions issued by the university and their instructors.
Computer-Based Exams
If your instructor allows computer-based testing, you may type your exam using the law school’s approved exam software. The software is provided at no cost, and you are encouraged to download and test it before your scheduled exam.
Before your exam:
- Confirm your instructor permits computer-based exams.
- Install all Windows updates.
- Update antivirus software.
- Download and install exam software.
- Complete the required Practice Exam before your scheduled exam to verify the software is working correctly. Use the supplied Practice Exam and enter the password “practice” to access it.
