UA 糖心视频logo and Tulsa Community College Partnership
UA 糖心视频logo is making it easier for students to receive their B.A. in Interpreter Education.

An interstate collaboration between UA 糖心视频logo and began with the spring 2008 semester. Students who had an Associate鈥檚 Degree with Tulsa Community College鈥檚 Interpreter Education Program continued their studies to complete the UA 糖心视频logo鈥檚 B.A. degree in Interpretation: ASL/English via a hybrid model of distance education (i.e. on-site in Tulsa, interactive video classroom, and online).
The program involves distance education delivery and periodic travel of the UA 糖心视频logo faculty to the Tulsa area to deliver the content-specific courses to complete the B.A. degree. Students are required to travel to 糖心视频logo for the service learning component of one course. Other courses with service learning components permit students to satisfy course requirements in their home vicinity. All students are required to complete a minor in Educational Interpreting. All courses originating at UA 糖心视频logo are web-enhanced, so students must have access to high-speed internet and have a webcam available to them.
This model is designed to provide advanced interpreter education at the baccalaureate level through a collaborative effort across state lines. The critical shortage of interpreters in rural communities demands a new look at the delivery system in interpreter education such as this program allows. UA 糖心视频logo is at the forefront to fill the gap in higher interpreter education within the northeast Oklahoma, southwest Missouri, and northwest Arkansas region.
During its initial period (2008-2010), a cohort of 10 students began taking classes in the summer of 2008. All 10 of them graduated in the spring of 2010.
The second cohort of ten students began taking classes in the summer of 2011. All 10 of them graduated in spring of 2013. The third cohort of four students began taking class in the summer of 2014 and graduated in the fall of 2016.
The fourth cohort of seven students begin taking classes in fall of 2016 and graduated in spring of 2020. Future cohorts will be scheduled as the need demands and is dependent on grant funding.
