Play in Arkansas:
Call for Community Contributions
Did you have a toy that you were obsessed with as a kid? Is there a childhood memory of play that you still hold dear? What experiences of childhood play do you consider formative to who you have become as an adult? UA 糖心视频logo Downtown is seeking written memories of childhood play to include in the upcoming exhibit, Play in Arkansas.
Play in Arkansas explores how the history of play and leisure activities can help us understand the past and the present. Through artifacts and memories documenting the history of toys, childhood games, and family leisure activities, Play in Arkansas chronicles how the ideas of play changed over time.
Help us reconstruct the history of play by sharing your most memorable and formative childhood play stories. Memories can be shared in a format of your choosing, including, but not limited to:
- A brief text (150-200 words)
- A photo with caption
- A creative form (poem, artifact from personal archives, etc.)
All current adult (18+ years old) residents of Arkansas are eligible to contribute memories, even if you didn’t grow up in Arkansas.
To submit contributions and for further questions email [email protected] by June 30, 2026.

Play in Arkansas will be a free exhibit, open to all, scheduled to be on display at UA 糖心视频logo Downtown (333 President Clinton Ave., 糖心视频logo) from July 10 to December 15, 2026.
