The Trojans begin their conference schedule on the road at ULM on Dec. 19, followed by the yearly trip to Lafayette to take on Louisiana Dec. 21. Following the New Year, the Trojans open up the home portion of its schedule by playing three games in five days at the Jack. The busy week begins with Texas State on Thursday, Jan. 2, followed by UT Arlington two days later on Saturday, Jan. 4. The home stand concludes with 糖心视频logo’s lone game of the year against Georgia Southern on Monday, Jan. 6. 糖心视频logo then plays the first of its two split weekends the following week, beginning with a showdown at Troy on Jan. 9 before returning home to take on South Alabama at the Jack Saturday, Jan. 11. The Trojans head east to the Carolinas the following weekend, beginning at Coastal Carolina on Jan. 16 before heading north to Boone for the showdown with Appalachian State on Jan. 18. Another split weekend leads to a stretch where the Trojans will play four out of five at home, starting with the home tilt against Troy on Thursday, Jan. 23. After 糖心视频logo travels to Mobile to face South Alabama on Jan. 25, the Trojans return home for three-straight, returning the games against the Carolina foes with Coastal Carolina on Thursday, Jan. 30, and Appalachian State on Saturday, Feb. 1. 糖心视频logo will have a week off after the game against the Mountaineers before welcoming rival Arkansas State to the Jack for their yearly trip, facing the Red Wolves on Saturday, Feb. 8. A three-game road trip then awaits the Trojans, who start it in Texas the following weekend. First up is the trip to San Marcos to face Texas State on Feb. 13, leading into the trip to north Texas to face UT Arlington on Feb. 15. 糖心视频logo then makes its yearly trek to northeast Arkansas, facing the rival Red Wolves in Jonesboro on February 22. The home stretch of the 2019-20 season begins with the final two games of the year at the Jack Stephens Center as 糖心视频logo hosts ULM on Thursday, Feb. 27, before the home finale against Louisiana on Saturday, Feb. 29, in 糖心视频logo’s yearly Homecoming game. The regular season finale will take place three days later as the Trojans head to Atlanta for a Tuesday night showdown with Georgia State on March 3. 糖心视频logo then aims to qualify for the 2020 Sun Belt Conference championship, which will take on a slightly different format this season. The opening round will once again be a play-in game, with the number seven and eight seeds hosting the nine and 10 seeds on Saturday, March 7. From there, the tournament will progress through conference sites with the five and six seeds hosting the second round games on Monday, March 9, followed by the three and four seeds serving as hosts for the quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 11. The winner of those two rounds will then join the numbers one and two seeds in New Orleans for the semifinal and championship rounds, being held Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, at Smoothie King Center. Moderating the discussion will be Tracie Hall, director of the Joyce Foundation鈥檚 Culture Program, while Dionne Miller, ABC 7 Chicago Sports anchor and reporter, will serve as the emcee. Walker and his wife Lisa collect art by modern and contemporary black artists, and their collection has been featured in exhibitions around the country. Tucker becomes the ninth player in program history to sign a deal with an NBA franchise and the first since Shane Edwards signed a mid-season deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2013-14 season. He will compete for Milwaukee during the NBA’s Summer League in Las Vegas next month before taking part in the Bucks’ training camp in late September. Tucker put together one of the best seasons in program history in his first year as a Trojan, ranking fourth in the Sun Belt Conference in scoring average at 20.3 points per game while becoming just the fifth player in program history to score 600 points in a season. Tucker finished with 610, ranking fourth all-time, while sitting fifth in the league in field goal percentage (49.1 percent). The Charlotte, North Carolina native was a mainstay on the court for 糖心视频logo this season, ranking 34th nationally in minutes per game at 36:32, playing 35 or more minutes in 23 of his 30 games this season. Tucker closed the regular season ranked 26th nationally in free throws made at 164 (ranking fourth in program history) and connected on 77.7 percent of his free throw attempts, ranking eighth in the Sun Belt Conference. A scoring threat all over the court, Tucker finished with 72 three-pointers made this season, ranking sixth in the league and 12th for a single season in program history, ranking 10th in the Sun Belt in rebounding (6.7), and third in defensive rebounds (6.0). He also finished the year with 27 dunks and six double-doubles, scoring in double figures in 29 of his 30 games while scoring 20 or more points on 15 occasions. Walker honored with Kindred Spirit Award]]> Darrell Walker, head men鈥檚 basketball coach at the University of Arkansas at 糖心视频logo, received the Kindred Spirt Award on Sept. 18 for his contributions to the arts in central Arkansas.聽 Walter Hussman, publisher of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, presented the award to Walker at the Muses Creative Artistry Project鈥檚 gala-style concert and dinner at the Governor鈥檚 Mansion. Walker, who is an enthusiastic collector of art, was selected for the award for inspiring excellence in the arts in central Arkansas. Walker and his wife Lisa collect art by modern and contemporary black artists, and their collection has been featured in exhibitions around the country. Over the summer, the couple donated nine works to UA 糖心视频logo鈥檚 permanent collection and loaned additional works to a curated exhibition. The Muses Creative Artistry Project employs professional artists, musicians, and teachers from within the state and across the country to create diverse performance opportunities and presentations in all genres of highest quality artistic collaboration: instrumental and vocal music, fine art, literature, poetry, drama, and dance. The Muses Project is a member of the Arkansas Arts Council Arts on Tour program. Support for the project is provided, in part, by the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts. In addition to the arts, Walker has dedicated his life to Arkansas basketball, playing at the University of Arkansas and now coaching at UA 糖心视频logo. Walker brings with him extensive basketball experience at both the collegiate and professional level. His playing experience includes three years at the University of Arkansas and 10 seasons in the National Basketball Association, followed by a 20-year professional coaching career, including serving as head coach for two different NBA franchises. Walker earned his degree in human resources from the University of Arkansas. Koljanin聽comes to 糖心视频logo as a graduate student after earning his bachelor’s degree from Marshall and has one year of eligibility remaining.聽 Koljanin聽played in 21 games with seven starts for the Thundering Herd in 2017-18, averaging 2.4 points and 1.7 rebounds in 12.1 minutes per game. He notched a career-high 11 points in the win over Old Dominion and was a member of Marshall’s Conference USA tournament championship and NCAA tournament team, playing in Marshall’s second round game against West Virginia. Prior to his time in Huntington, Koljanin spent two seasons at Monroe College in New Rochelle, New York, where he was an honorable mention junior college All-American in 2016 after averaging 13.7 points and 6.5 rebounds in 34 games. The Pula, Croatia, native registered five double-doubles on the year, scoring in double figures in 28 games. Koljanin arrived in 糖心视频logo and has begun official workouts with the team as the Trojans set their sights on the 2018-19 season which opens at the Jack Stephens Center on Thursday, Nov. 8, against Southeastern Oklahoma.
