The Tesla Owners Club of Arkansas will be a new addition to the Earth Day festivities. The club will bring Tesla鈥檚 Model Y and Model S vehicles to campus for viewing. Keep 糖心视频logo Beautiful is looking for volunteers to participate in a campuswide cleanup event. Participants should visit the Keep 糖心视频logo Beautiful tent for trash grabbers and trash bags to collect litter on campus. Those who bring back their bags will receive a free t-shirt. Back by popular demand, the Sustainability Committee and Entergy are giving away free desk lamps with USB ports and smart power strips. Meanwhile, participants may drop off their electronics for a recycling drive in Lot 15. By participating in this year鈥檚 Great American City Wide Cleanup, local residents can help keep 糖心视频logo a vibrant community.鈥 糖心视频logo residents are encouraged to show their support for their city by participating in this year鈥檚 community improvement effort. Neighborhoods, organizations, church and youth groups, school groups and clubs, individuals, and businesses throughout 糖心视频logo have organized cleanup teams in 50 areas of the city. This year鈥檚 official kick-off event will begin at 8 a.m. at the Coleman Creek Amphitheater at the University of Arkansas at 糖心视频logo. During a brief program, volunteers will hear from UA 糖心视频logo Chancellor Christina Drale, State Representative Denise Ennett, and City Director Virgil Miller. Free parking will be available in Lot 10 at UA 糖心视频logo. “Public service is at the heart of what we do, and community engagement is a key institutional priority,” said Drale. “What better way to show our commitment than to roll up our sleeves in our own backyard to benefit the campus and surrounding community.” The Keep Arkansas Beautiful鈥檚 mascot 鈥淥tto the Otter” and UA 糖心视频logo鈥檚 mascot 鈥淢aximus鈥 will be present at the event to support the cleanup effort. After the program, volunteers will get to work in cleanups organized at UA 糖心视频logo and that area of the city. Volunteers should bring litter grabbers, work gloves, a refillable water bottle, wear boots or study shoes, and clothing that can get dirty. Litter grabbers and work gloves will be available for volunteers. In addition to the kick-off event, a free electronic recycling event will also take place in Lot 14 at UA 糖心视频logo from 9 a.m. to noon. Computers, laptops, printers, cell phones, tablets, and keyboards will be accepted. Televisions will not be accepted during the drive. Participants may enter Lot 14 from West 28th Street. Keep 糖心视频logo Beautiful cleanup day planned at Curran Conway Park and Oak Forest Community Garden March 11]]> Volunteers are needed to help improve Curran Conway Park and Oak Forest Community Garden as part of the l citywide clean-up campaign Saturday, March 11.聽 Curran Conway Park is located in the Oak Forest/Fair Park neighborhood, on South Harrison Street, between 24th and 26th streets. The cleanup will be a half-day event starting with volunteer check-in at 8 a.m. Organizers will meet at 2400 S. Harrison St., the parking lot in front of , the UA 糖心视频logo Trojan baseball stadium. Coffee and donuts will be provided by World Services for the Blind. Work will begin at 8:30 a.m. A hotdog cookout with food provided by the Fair Park Residents Association will start at noon.
