Apocalyptic Film Festival continues with ‘Early Warning’]]> The UA ������Ƶlogo Department of History will host a screening of the 1981 film “Early Warning” on Oct. 11 as part of the department’s Apocalyptic Film Festival.  The movie will be screened in Stabler Hall Room 601 at 3 p.m. on Oct. 11. The Apocalyptic Film Festival is being held in conjunction with this fall’s History of Apocalyptic Thought class. The history department will also show “Left Behind” at 3 p.m. Nov. 8. History professor to discuss 1960s desegregation in ������Ƶlogo schools]]> The lecture, “Some Degree of Separation: Education in ������Ƶlogo in the 1960s,‘” will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Ottenheimer Auditorium in the Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St. in downtown ������Ƶlogo. Refreshments will be served at 7 p.m., and the talk is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. The lecture involves an examination of the experiences of those directly involved in the situation, including a student, a civil rights leader, and a school board member. “After federal courts ordered the desegregation of ������Ƶlogo’s schools, a new generation of white leaders arose who accepted a small degree of desegregation if it saved the public schools and prevented more extreme policies,” Ross said. The event, which is free and open to the public, is part of the University History Institute’s Evenings with History Series.
