Scholarship program helps students graduate from UALR]]> Facilities Management ¶Ù±ð±è²¹°ù³Ù³¾±ð²Ô³Ù.Ìý The scholarship program was established in 2012 to help employees in Facilities Management, Procurement Services, and Public Safety and their family members attend college. Since 2012, the program has awarded more than $151,000 in scholarships to 81 UALR employees and their family members and helped 15 recipients receive college degrees. The program is funded by donations from the UALR GolfFEST Tournament held every September in partnership with local businesses and philanthropists. Funds raised pay the remaining student account balance for approved scholarship recipients, after tuition discounts and individual financial aid has been applied. The five students who graduated in the fall 2016 semester, include:
  • ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýDevin Banks, custodian in Facilities Management, bachelor’s degree in mass communication
  • ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýBrenda Glover, custodian in Facilities Management, bachelor’s degree in criminal justice
  • ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýCindy McDonald, former administrative assistant in Facilities Management, currently a business manager in the College of Business, bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýRayme Wilson, administrative assistant in Facilities Management, associate degree in early childhood education
  •      Jesse Wilson, husband of Rayme Wilson, master’s degree in middle school education

GolfFEST raises money for UALR employees]]> Facilities Education Scholarship has helped 50 University of Arkansas at ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµlogo employees and family members continue their education. GolfFEST made this program possible and has helped six recipients earn the credits needed to graduate. This year’s GolfFEST will be held Monday, Sept. 21, at Chenal Valley Country Club. Registration begins at 11 a.m. followed by lunch and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Mike Beebe, former Arkansas governor, is scheduled to play at the event and speak briefly about the program. Steve Sullivan, KATV sports director, also is scheduled to participate. To register, fill out the form and team roster at . Registration is first come, first serve. Money raised during the event will help fund scholarships for UALR’s facilities management employees. The program has awarded 104 scholarships at a total of $76,956 in three years. In conjunction with other university benefits, the Facilities Education Scholarship offers eligible employees a free college education at UALR or assistance with attending another approved school. UALR’s facilities management employees are responsible for the university’s buildings, mechanical equipment, utilities, grounds, safety, and custodial services.    ]]>
