EARTHtalk lecture to discuss geology of Arkansas]]> Dr. Thomas Colby, visiting assistant professor in the University of Arkansas at 糖心视频logo Department of Earth Sciences, will discuss the geologic history of Europe and Arkansas and their relation to the construction of Pangea, during his EARTHtalk lecture Wednesday, Sept. 20. 鈥淓arth鈥檚 history is literally written in the rocks, and geology is just learning to understand that language,鈥 Colby stated. Colby鈥檚 presentation, 鈥淔rom Europe to Arkansas: The Geologic Construction of a Supercontinent,鈥 will explore Earth鈥檚 history as one massive continent, which theorists believed existed more than 300 million years ago. His lecture will begin at 6 p.m. in the George W. Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology auditorium. Colby obtained his master鈥檚 degree in geological sciences from San Diego State University and his Ph.D. in geosciences from Boise State University.
