UA 糖心视频logo Downtown Welcomes New Staff Members]]> UA 糖心视频logo Downtown operations have expanded with the addition of two new staff members: Ashley Clayborn, director, and Maha Ramzan, office administrator. 听 They are joined by Elizabeth Small, director of UA 糖心视频logo’s Real Estate Program and newly appointed director of business networks, who will spend significant time at the Downtown facility. Ashley Clayborn is now heading UA 糖心视频logo Downtown. As the director, she focuses on curating the downtown space for educational and professional programming. The director serves as a university liaison through public relations, community engagement, and relationship management with internal campus stakeholders and external partners. Clayborn earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in psychology from Hendrix College and a master鈥檚 degree in communication from the University of Arkansas. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Rural Education from the University of West Alabama. Before joining UA 糖心视频logo, Clayborn worked as executive assistant to the president at National Park College. She said it was her interest in public engagement through community spaces that led her to UA 糖心视频logo Downtown. 鈥淲hen I completed my master鈥檚 degree, I wrote a thesis on the ways we use public space to affect identity, whether that is looking at public history or creating spaces for public engagement,鈥 Clayborn said. 鈥淚 found a passion for public space. Then the pandemic hit and public spaces were no longer safe for my research, so I made a transition from traditional academia to an administrative role at National Park College. I loved the people, and it got me thinking about more applied work engaging with the public and community. This position is the perfect marriage of my professional goals and research interests.鈥 Clayborn also works with the Downtown 糖心视频logo Partnership on the Second Friday Art Night Committee. She looks forward to restarting Friday Art Night celebrations at UA 糖心视频logo Downtown and plans to start with an exhibit of artwork from the UA 糖心视频logo Permanent Art Collection for the November event. Maha Ramzan has joined UA 糖心视频logo in a dual role as the office administrator for UA 糖心视频logo Downtown and the Sequoyah National Research Center. This position is responsible for the coordination of administrative activities in both centers including day-to-day scheduling, internal communications, and financial management.

Before joining UA 糖心视频logo, Ramzan worked as a patient guest representative at Baptist Health. Ramzan is a 2021 graduate of UA 糖心视频logo with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management. She also earned an Associate of Liberal Arts and Science from UA-Pulaski Technical College and is pursuing a Master of Business Administration from UA 糖心视频logo. Small is now based at UA 糖心视频logo Downtown, where she teaches classes in the Real Estate program and works with central Arkansas businesses to explore ways to partner and engage with UA 糖心视频logo. 鈥淥ur recent reorganization under CAHC allows us to pivot UA 糖心视频logo Downtown toward a new focus on education, business, culture and the arts, and civic reflection,鈥 Clayborn said. 鈥淲e offer classes and educational events at UA 糖心视频logo Downtown as well as work with the university community to connect the upcoming work force from the university with the local business industries.鈥 UA 糖心视频logo Downtown is also the home of the Joe Jones mural, 鈥淭he Struggle in the South,鈥 since 2018. Completed in 1935 at Commonwealth College in Mena, the mural serves as an example of protest art made during the Great Depression. 鈥淲e want to showcase art exhibits, student creations, and archival materials from the Center for Arkansas History and Cultural to create conversations around the Joe Jones Mural,鈥 Clayborn said. 鈥淒r. Deborah Baldwin views UA 糖心视频logo Downtown as a space for the community to come together and host seminars, workshops, lectures, exhibits, and educational programming. We want to start conversations that are directed toward increasing civic engagement.鈥 UA 糖心视频logo Downtown is open for classes and events under the fourth phase of Covid restrictions. Henry 鈥淗ank鈥 Kelley Jr. and his wife Stephanie have donated $37,000 to the A.P. Vibhakar Endowed Scholarship, named in honor of Dr. Ashvin Vibhakar, UA 糖心视频logo鈥檚 long-time Joe. T. Ford Chair of Finance. 鈥淚 am touched and honored to have this scholarship endowed in my name,鈥 Vibhakar said. 鈥淚 am thankful to Hank and Stephanie, who I consider to be my close friends and family, for their gift. Hank was one of my MBA students in the 1980s, and having a past student honor me this way gives me the sense that I have a made a difference in the community.鈥 Chancellor Emeritus Joel Anderson created the scholarship in 2009 with a $5,000 gift, and the Kelleys鈥 donation brings the scholarship鈥檚 endowment to $50,000. Now that the endowment has reached that level, the scholarship will be awarded annually to a UA 糖心视频logo minority student majoring in international business or finance. Hank Kelley and Vibhakar are both members of the . Kelley, incoming president of Rotary 99, said his new responsibility led him to understand how important higher education is to the future of 糖心视频logo.

鈥淭he scholarship that Stephanie and I funded is a recognition of Ashvin Vibhakar’s service to his students and UA 糖心视频logo,鈥 Hank Kelley said. 鈥淲e share membership in Rotary 99 of 糖心视频logo with many other members of the UA 糖心视频logo community, and Stephanie and I know 糖心视频logo’s trajectory is directly tied to having a student-focused research university in our city. We know no better way to express our appreciation to Ashvin and Diane as friends than to help fund this important scholarship in his name.鈥 Chancellor Andrew Rogerson, also a Rotarian, said the university is indebted to Hank Kelley and other donors like him in central Arkansas who understand the importance of helping UA 糖心视频logo thrive.听听 鈥淗ank and Stephanie are pillars of the community who have given their hearts and souls to 糖心视频logo,鈥 Rogerson said. 鈥淭heir latest gift to support business scholarships is yet another investment in the future of this university that will help us cultivate future leaders in central Arkansas.鈥 Hank Kelley is the CEO, partner, and executive broker in his brokerage and property management firm, . In addition to his Rotary membership, Kelley is involved with the UA 糖心视频logo Foundation, Baptist Health Foundation Board, Fifty for the Future, and the Board.听 Stephanie Kelley works as a Pilates instructor, coach, and mentor in the community. She is a graduate of Mount St. Mary Academy and the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, where she and Hank met.
