Bowen School of Law will host its annual Discover Law Day on Tuesday, Feb. 12, to give people the opportunity to learn about law school and the legal profession from current students, professors, and attorneys. The event will be 6-8 p.m. at the law school, located at 1201 McMath Ave. The keynote speaker will be Robert Tellez, a Bowen School of Law alumnus and North 糖心视频logo attorney who will discuss his 鈥淛ourney to Attorney.鈥 A panel of students will also be available to answer questions about their law school experiences. The purpose of the event is to educate young students in high school, community college, or the early years of undergraduate school as well as future students from racial or ethnic groups underrepresented in the legal profession about the possibilities of a legal career and the resources available to help them succeed. Participants will learn about skills needed for success on the LSAT and in law school. 鈥淩esearch shows that students who apply to law school make their decisions much earlier than with other professional programs,鈥 said John DiPippa, dean of the law school. 鈥淭his event is designed to give participants a head start in that decision.鈥 The purpose of the event is to educate young students in high school, community college, or the early years of undergraduate school and from racial or ethnic groups underrepresented in the legal profession about the possibilities of a legal career. Anyone interested in a legal career, however, is invited to attend. Registration is available online.
