UALR alumni and friends enjoy Arkansas Travelers game at Alumni Night]]> Amanda Crutchfield, a 2014 alumna, was excited to watch the Arkansas Travelers defeat the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 3-2. 鈥淚 think it is a good opportunity to meet other alumni and network,鈥 Crutchfield said. 鈥淎nd a Travelers game is always fun.鈥 Crutchfield, a pre-kindergarten teacher at Terry Elementary School in 糖心视频logo, said the networking opportunities she had while a student at UALR were an important part of how she got her first job after graduation. 鈥淭hanks to the education program, I had internships and that鈥檚 how I got my job. I worked at several schools, so I got to know a lot of other people in education,鈥 Crutchfield said.

Christian O鈥橬eal, vice chancellor for university advancement, said the event was one of the ways the UALR Alumni Association is promoting new lifetime memberships that support student scholarships. 鈥淲e are happy to see so many proud members of the UALR Alumni Association,鈥 O鈥橬eal said. 鈥淲e are blessed to have so many proud supporters of the university who are helping our students earn a college education.鈥 A single lifetime membership to the UALR Alumni Association costs $500, while a joint membership is $800. One hundred percent of the membership cost goes into the student scholarship endowment fund to provide scholarships for deserving UALR students. UALR hosts $10 Alumni Night Aug. 27 at Dickey-Stephens Park]]> The University of Arkansas at 糖心视频logo will host Alumni Night Saturday, Aug. 27, at Dickey-Stephens Park. For $10, UALR alumni and friends can enjoy an all-you-can-eat picnic and a night at the ballpark to watch the final Arkansas Travelers home game of the season. All UALR alumni, friends, family, faculty, and staff are invited to watch the Arkansas Travelers battle the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. The picnic will begin at 6:10 p.m. at the Club Car on the concourse overlooking the field, followed by the game at 7:10 p.m. The menu will include hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, potato chips, popcorn, soft drinks, sweet tea, and water. UALR Alumni Night is a new event meant to strengthen connections between alumni and the university. 鈥淒uring the summer, most people travel and go on vacations. Their schedules are very hectic,鈥 said Derek Boyce, UALR Alumni Association director of annual giving and alumni membership. 鈥淲e want to start a new summer tradition for alumni and their friends and families to stay connected with each other and the university.鈥 Tickets can be purchased online through Aug. 25 or while supplies last.
