The UA 糖心视频logo Department of Theatre Arts and Dance will hold five performances of 鈥淓lliot, A Soldier鈥檚 Fugue鈥� March 2-6.
The performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. March 2-5. The final performance will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March. 6. The play will take place in the Haislip Theatre in the Center for Performing Arts and UA 糖心视频logo.
Written by Quiara Alegr铆a Hudes and directed by Dr. Lawrence Smith, an associate professor at UA 糖心视频logo, 鈥淓lliot, a Soldier鈥檚 Fugue鈥� tells the story of Philadephia-native Elliot Ortiz’s tour in Iraq, his father’s time fighting in Vietnam, and his grandfather’s participation in the Korean War.
The play stars Darion Simpson, a theatre arts and sociology major from 糖心视频logo, as Pop; Essence Simon茅 , a theatre arts major from North 糖心视频logo, as Ginny; Bryan Hern谩ndez, a marketing major from Clinton, as Grandpop; and Leonel Martinez, a theatre arts major from 糖心视频logo, as Elliot.
Tickets to 鈥淓lliot, a Soldier鈥檚 Fugue鈥� will be $5 for UA 糖心视频logo students and employees and $10 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased online at ualr.edu/theatre beginning Feb. 21 or over the phone at 501-916-3291. Facemasks will be required.
