UA 糖心视频logo to feature pianist Norman Boehm April 8

Pianist Norman Boehm, professor of music at Hendrix College, will star in a recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 8, in the Fine Arts Building鈥檚 Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.聽 The performance, which is free and open to the public, will feature Frederick Delius鈥檚 鈥淭he Walk to the Paradise Garden,鈥 Boehm鈥檚 Sonata in F major, Robert Boury鈥檚 鈥淭hree Lost Waltzes,鈥 Frederic Chopin鈥檚 Barcarolle, Op. 60, as well as Two Poems, Op. 32 by Alexander Scriabin and Robert Schumann鈥檚 Fantasy in C major, Op. 17. Boehm holds a bachelor鈥檚 degree and master鈥檚 degree from the University of Michigan and a doctorate from the Eastman School of Music. As a pianist, he has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician in Europe, South Africa, and the United States. He specializes in music from the late 19th and early 20th centuries and has performed a number of single-composer recitals, featuring the music of Faure, Scriabin, Medtner, Ireland, and Grainger. In addition to original composition, he has concentrated in recent years on arranging large-scale symphonic works for chamber ensembles, including the eighth and ninth symphonies of Bruckner and the first symphony of Elgar.
