KUAR reporters, UA 糖心视频logo student bring home Diamond Journalism Awards
Reporters from, University of Arkansas at 糖心视频logo鈥檚 public radio station, won nine Diamond Journalism Awards, a regional competition sponsored by the.听Additionally, one UA 糖心视频logo student, Jackson Carter, a graduate student in theSchool of Mass Communication, received first place in the multimedia project category for his work, 鈥淔orgotten-An In-Depth Investigation into the Arkansas Foster Care System.鈥The awards, which were announced Nov. 14, recognize outstanding journalism by professionals and students from Arkansas and bordering media markets in Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. This year鈥檚 competition was judged by journalists from the Florida Pro Chapter of SPJ. The awards honor work published or broadcast between July 1, 2016, and June 30, 2017.Jacob Kauffman, KUAR reporter and anchor, earned second place in the Outstanding New Journalist competition. He also earned second place in the photo slideshow competition for his work, 鈥淲omen鈥檚 March in 糖心视频logo,鈥 and first place in the documentary/investigative reporting category for his coverage of executions in Arkansas.Chris Hickey, KUAR reporter and anchor, along with Kauffman received first place in sports reporting for 鈥淐ollege football gets Arkansas to change its new gun law.鈥Hickey also earned first and second place in feature reporting for his stories, 鈥淩esearch explores political attitudes in 糖心视频logo鈥檚 religious,鈥 and 鈥淒ealing with influx, 糖心视频logo Mexican consulate expands legal services.鈥A full list of KUAR winners include:
