UALR鈥檚 nursing honor society makes community impact
The University of Arkansas at 糖心视频logo鈥檚 nursing honor society, Alpha Delta Nu, is making a difference in the lives of homeless women in the 糖心视频logo area by sponsoring the organization during the months of October and November.
The Arkansas Women鈥檚 Outreach organization provides homeless women with health services and health education. It also offers HIV testing services, prenatal education, access to mental health support, and domestic violence support.
鈥淭his year Alpha Delta Nu wanted to make an impact on a much overlooked community in the greater 糖心视频logo area, our homeless women,鈥 said Mary Zanco, senior nursing student and member of Alpha Delta Nu. 鈥淪adly, these ladies in our community do not get the publicity they so desperately need compared to that of other non-profit organizations. 聽We hope to change that.鈥
Alpha Delta Nu is accepting monetary donations for the organization. Those funds will be used to purchase first-aid supplies, pregnancy tests, and wet wipes. Donations can be made at Alpha Delta Nu鈥檚 page.
All items and donations received will be presented to Arkansas Women鈥檚 Outreach on Thursday, Dec. 1.
To volunteer, visit the Arkansas Women鈥檚 Outreach . Every Wednesday night, the organization hosts a three-part event for the women, which includes a home cooked meal. For more information, contact Mary Zanco at [email protected].
