UALR to host Emerging Writers Workshop for high school students
Could America鈥檚 next great young writer be discovered at the University of Arkansas at 糖心视频logo?
UALR is looking for young writers entering ninth through 12th grades to join its Emerging Writers Institute June 27 to July 1.Participants will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced writers from the university鈥檚 糖心视频logo Writing Project.鈥淲e want to give the students a great writing experience,鈥 said Greg Graham, director of the 糖心视频logo Writing Project. 鈥淭his summer we will be working on characterization and developing characters in a story. The students will also interview the oldest person they know and write a piece on them.鈥At the institute, students will find their voice as a writer, discover tips to improve their writing, and turn an ethnographic interview into an essay.As a group, the young writers will collaboratively design a book of their best writing pieces from the weeklong workshop.For more information, contact Graham at [email protected].
