Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, she received her B.A. from Fisk University and her M.D. from Meharry Medical College both in Nashville, Tennessee. She said the knowledge and experience gained during the 18-month program has proven invaluable in her understanding of the complicated business component of medicine.
