Apply for Washington Internships by Feb. 28
Applications are now being accepted for summer internships at , the largest independent, nonprofit academic internship program in the country. The deadline to apply is Feb. 28. Last year, three UALR students were selected for the internships. Founded 35 years ago, The Washington Center鈥檚 mission is to build future leaders by instilling in all program participants the need to be well-informed, public-spirited, and socially engaged leaders.
Applicants must be Arkansas citizens, hold a grade point average of at least 3.0, and have at least 45 semester hours by the time the summer session begins in the District of Columbia.
鈥淯ALR has built up an impressive roster of interns in a very short period of time. I hope this continues, and I look forward to seeing students from all of UALR鈥檚 colleges compete for the subsidies we are awarded,鈥 said Dr. Elisabeth Sherwin, professor of psychology and coordinator of UALR鈥檚 participation in the program.

Last year, computer science major Michael Jolley of Batesville, art history student Jamilla Brown of 糖心视频logo, and international studies major Jennifer Guzman of Alexander were interns at TWC. They joined a cadre of UALR students who have interned at sites such as the Navy Criminal Investigation Service, the Navy Museum, the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Defense, Walter Reed Military Hospital, InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington, National Council of State Legislatures, Leadership for Africa USA, and Women Empowered Against Violence.
