Dr. Monica Meadows is an Assistant Professor of Education in the School of Education at the
University of Arkansas at 糖心视频logo and a core member of the Jodie Mahony Center for Gifted
Education research team, where she also serves as an adjunct lecturer. She previously served
as the Technical Assistance Director for STEM+C 2 , a federally funded Jacob K. Javits project,
and brings more than twenty years of experience in education. Her professional background
includes serving as an elementary and secondary Gifted and Talented Facilitator, teaching
middle and high school science, working as an AP Coordinator, and teaching in elementary and
gifted education programs at University of Arkansas at 糖心视频logo.
As part of her work with the Jodie Mahony Center for Gifted Educations, Dr. Meadows has
served as both a teacher and then the principal of the Summer Laureate University for Youth
and collaborates extensively on the Center鈥檚 research, outreach, and summer initiatives.
At the state level, she is a past Board member of Arkansans for Gifted and Talented Education
(AGATE), where she served as Parent Affiliate Director.
At the national level, Dr. Meadows serves as Co-Chair of the National Association for Gifted
Children (NAGC) Preservice Teacher Standards Task Force, leading efforts to shape the future
of gifted education teacher preparation. She is also Chair of the NAGC STEM Network and the
NAGC Leadership Development Committee.
Her research focuses on gifted, creative, and talented education; STEM talent development;
teacher professional learning; underrepresented populations; sense of belonging; and twice-
exceptional learners.
